Wilbur “Sam” Stevens, 74, formerly of Austin, Minnesota died at 4:58 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 in his home in Beloit, WI after a brief illness. He was born July 2, 1936 in Pleasant Grove, Minnesota the son of Mr. and Mrs. David and Neva (McAllister) Stevens. Sam graduated from Austin High School and Minnesota Bible College. He married Judith J. Kinsey in Beloit, WI on Oct. 17, 1959. He worked as a machinist for Besly in South Beloit, IL retiring in 2002. He attended Roxbury Road Church of Christ in Janesville, WI.

Survivors include son Christopher (Kristine) Stevens of Orfordville, WI; daughter Jennifer (Joseph) Koeberl of Janesville, WI; grandchildren: Tabatha, Michael, Scott, Delaney, Kyle, and Nathaniel; great grandchildren: Aniyah, Winter; brothers Murwin Stevens and Edwin (Sharon) Stevens all of Belvidere, IL; Walter (Sara) Stevens of Kasson, Minnesota; sisters Mary Ellen Stevens and Betty (Larry) Schewe all of Austin, Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 in McCorkle Funeral Home at 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd in Rockton, IL with Pastor Marc Grindle of Roxbury Road Church of Christ in Janesville, WI officiating. Cremation Rites to be accorded. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. The family prefers people may give memorial to the cancer research center of their choice.
