The Lyle/Pacelli football team couldn’t close out a solid effort in the first half of a 37-0 loss at Spring Grove (4-0 overall) Friday.

Spring Grove scored three touchdowns in the last three minutes of the first half to go up 31-0 at the break as Aric Elton had a 10-yard TD run and a five-yard scoring run and Blaine Storlie hit Evan Howard for a 60-yard scoring screen pass as time expired in the first half.

“We played a lot better in the first half and then we had a mental lapse,” L/P head coach Mark Buntje said. “That’s not good. Hopefully we can carry it for a whole game next week.”
