The Riverland volleyball team fell to Ridgewater 25-11, 25-21, 25-22 on the road Saturday.

While the Blue Devils (3-12 overall) came up short, their head coach was pleased with the effort.

“We played better against them than we did the last time we played them,” RCC head coach Helen Jahr said. “We played like a team.”

Stephanie Loverink had eight kills for RCC, Robin Arjes had four kills, Jessica Reuvers had three blocks and Kristin Vesel had 13 digs, nine set assists and three ace serves.

RCC also lost to Minnesota West 21-25, 25-21, 25-13, 18-25, 15-11 on the road Saturday.

In that match, Loverink had 12 kills, 20 digs and three blocks, Cassie Masberg had nine kills, Danyel Hythecker had 23 set assists and 20 digs, Reuvers had six ace blocks and Arjes had three blocks.
