The Packer girls soccer team had to settle for a 2-2 tie against Waseca (5-5 overall) in Art Hass Stadium Tuesday.

Austin (2-5-2 overall) trailed 2-1 in the second half when Nicole Lipari knocked in a shot from the box with 15 minutes left in the game.

Lipari, a sophomore, also scored on a breakaway in the first half.

The Packers had some late chances, but couldn’t connect.

“We had a lot of shots where we didn’t get lucky,” Austin head coach Josh Dumas said. “But our girls did a good job of maintaining composure against some (questionable) sportsmanship. We played a solid respectful game.”

Abby Gallaher had 10 saves for the Packers, who had 12 shots on goal.
