Keepsake Quilters Guild will exhibit their creations in the Austin Area Art Center, Oak Park Mall, from this Wednesday through Sunday, Oct. 31. A reception in their honor will be held Sunday, Oct. 3, from 1 to 5 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, and there will be no sales tax on purchases made that day.

Of special interest are the Quilts of Valor which are made to honor veterans and the Charity Quilts given to everyone who purchase Habitat for Humanity homes. In addition, the exhibit will feature a variety of quilts of different sizes, ready-to-wear garments, wall hangings, and table runners.

Art Center to Hold Pumpkin Painting

Kids can come to Walmart in Austin Saturday, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to paint pumpkins with artists from the Austin Area Art Center. The cost is only $5 per pumpkin, and all supplies are provided.
