The Hayfield football team fell to Goodhue 10-8 in Hayfield Friday.

The Wildcats (2-1 overall) took the lead for good when Ross Schrimpf hit a 12-yard field goal with eight minutes left in the game.

Hayfield (0-3 overall) took an 8-7 lead in the with 7:51 left in the third quarter when Dillon Wagner picked off a pass and ran it back 30 yards for a score. Broderick Diekman ran in the two-point conversion.

Goodue took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Jared Dicke scored on a short touchdown run.

Dicke had 149 yards rushing for Goodhue.
