George S. Clark, 83

George Samuel Clark, age 83 of Austin, Minn., died of lung cancer on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea, Minn.

George was born on Feb. 10, 1927 in Austin, Minn. to Roy and Dora (Buringa) Clark. After graduating from Austin High School, he received his Associate of Arts Degree. George served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, George worked at the George A. Hormel Company until his retirement. George was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, the UFCW, the Moose and the Eagles.

George enjoyed fishing and camping in northern Minnesota with his family. Spending time gardening and landscaping his acreage was very rewarding to George.

George is survived by his wife: Marjorie Clark, Austin, Minn.; children: Deborah Coleman, Drums, Pa.; Larry Clark (Jane), Austin, Minn.; Mark Clark, Austin, Minn.; and Tamela Clark, Faribault, Minn.; grandchildren: Katy Clark, Austin, Minn.; Adrienne Clark, Albert Lea, Minn.; Jason Clark, Minneapolis, Minn.; Jenny Coleman, PA; Jeff Coleman, PA; and Tom Coleman, Pa.; and eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents and one brother, Samuel Clark.

The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral Services will be held at a later date.
