The woman told police that after an argument Garcia-Marquez “choked me on the floor and kept punching me,” according to court documents. She also said he “threatened to mess my face up so nobody would want me.”

The court complaint states that a child at the residence called 911, which is when the man fled the scene.

Garcia-Marquez called the woman’s cell phone several times while police were with her, and eventually he agreed to come back to the area.

He was arrested upon arrival.

Garcia-Marquez is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 7. His conditional bail was set at $25,000.
