Bruins close out NAHL showcase with a loss to Texas

The Austin Bruins closed out the NAHL showcase in Blaine with a 6-4 loss to the Texas Tornado, who have won the Robertson Cup four times in the last nine years.

Texas scored four times in the third period to break the contest open.

Austin (1-3 overall) was out-shot 41-18, but Bruins goalie Keegan Asumndson stopped 35 shots.

The Bruins led 2-1 after the first period when James Dickinson and Jonathan Gehrt each scored.

Jeremy Finger, a 6-3 forward from Orlando Fla., knocked in two goals in the third period for Austin.

Dickinson had two assists in the loss.

The Bruins will host Owatonna in their home debut at Riverside Arena Saturday, Oct. 2 at 7:05 p.m.
