Bernard Lambert Schnorenberg, 93

Bernard Lambert Schnorenberg, 93, passed away on Aug. 22, 2010, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis.

Bernard was born April 15, 1917, to Edward and Ann Schnorenberg at Rose Creek. Prior to being drafted, he worked at George A. Hormel Co. in Austin. He served in the U. S. Army as a medic in the European Theatre from April 24, 1942, until his honorable discharge on Oct. 28, 1945. His deployments included Africa, Italy, Sicily, France and Germany. He returned to work at the Hormel Co. and retired on Sept. 28, 1979.

On April 11, 1943, Bernard married Betty Jane Geske at Rose Creek. Upon retirement, the couple moved to Eau Claire, Wis., where they made their home. After 60 years of marriage, Betty preceded him in death on March 16, 2003.

Bernard is survived by one brother, Francis (Mary) Schnorenberg, Mantorville.; three sisters: Lillian Sneve, Rochester, Minn.; Dorothy Schulz, Austin, and Mary (Leonard) Van Den Hemel, Owatonna; two sisters-in-law: Ellen Schnorenberg, Waseca, and Lois Geske of St. Paul; brother-in-law: John Wallace (Stephanie) Geske of Blair, Wis.

Bernard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; brother, Jerome; brothers-in-law: Rudy Sneve, Arthur Geske and Wallace Soller; Donna Soller, and sister-in-law Jackie Geske.

A private family graveside service will be held later at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire, Wis. Smith Funeral Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
