The Austin girls tennis team topped Mankato East 4-3 Tuesday.
The match was tied at three when Austin’s No. 4 singles player Ashley Flahrety gutted out a 6-2 win in the third set to give her squad the victory.
“She never gets flustered and stays mentally focused throughout all her matches. She frustrates a lot of her opponents with her consistency,” Austin head coach Tom Tauchnitz said. “It was great to see the girls all swarm her with hugs after the match. Ashley is a great kid.”
