ST. PAUL — House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher is congratulating Mark Dayton on winning the Democratic primary for governor.
Kelliher’s concession comes about 11 hours after she refused to concede when the race was called for Dayton shortly after midnight. The delay caused Democrats to hold off plans for a unity rally.
Kelliher might have gone on to become Minnesota’s first woman governor.
But she says she’ll give Dayton her full support against Republican Tom Emmer and the Independence Party’s Tom Horner.
