Della (Dufty) Thompson, 92, of Leawood, Kan., peacefully passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010.

Della was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Sept. 22, 1917, to George and Selma Dufty. Della grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1936. Della worked as a secretary at Hormel up until she got married. Della was a wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family.

Della was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Hugh (Hug) Thompson, Sr.; her son, David Thompson, and her grandson, Scott Thompson.

Della is survived by her children, Susan (Everett) Moeder of Leawood, Kan.; Hugh Jr. (Judi) of Arlington Heights, Ill.; Cindy (George) Johnson of Elkhart, Ind.; Phil (Rene) Thompson of Parker, Colo.; and daughter-in-law, Jane Thompson of Long view, Texas; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 9, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary. Interment will be in the Enterprise Cemetery in rural Austin.
