David R. Andree, 68, of Brownsdale, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at his home of natural causes.

David Andree

David was born Feb. 24, 1942, in Mower County to Rudolph and Florence Andree. He grew up in the Brownsdale area and went to school at country school and also in Brownsdale where he was educated through the eighth grade.

On November 10, 1963, he married Janice Osborn in Brownsdale. The couple has lived on a farm in rural Brownsdale ever since.

David was a groundskeeper at Oakwood Cemetery and a retired farmer. He was a member of the Southern Minnesota Pumpkin Growers Association and the Dexter Cattle Association. David and Jan ran the Mower County Fair Poultry Building and after 25 years they were inducted into the Livestock Hall of Fame. David loved cows, border collies and pumpkins. His grandchildren and family were his pride and joy.

Survivors include his wife, Janice, Brownsdale; son, Richard (Margaret) Andree, Brownsdale; daughter, Sheri (Todd) Grube, Burnsville; son, Timothy (Daya) Andree, St. Clair; son, Jason (Dana) Andree, Dodge Center; nine grandchildren; mother-in-law, Leona Swenson, Austin; brother, Wayne Andree, Austin; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Andree, Austin, Catherine Andree, Austin; brothers-in-law, Robert (Dee) Osborn, High Point, N.C., Manly (Judy) Osborn, Denton, Texas; nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward and Bob Andree.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Brownsdale with Pastor Jeff Sage officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
