The Blooming Prairie volleyball team opened its season with a four-game win by scores of 25-18, 25-21, 21-25, 27-25 over Medford in BP Tuesday.

The Awesome Blossoms (1-0 overall) trailed the fourth game 24-21 when Whitney Burt served four straight points, including an ace to make it 25-24 BP.

Medford tied the game, but Janelle Morem took some advice from a teammate to give her team the lead.

“I had told Whitney that the tip kill was there and she went on and told Janelle, who went and did just that to get a point,” BP head coach Gina McLaughlin said.

Medford couldn’t return Yasmine Smith’s last serve to end the game.
