Roberta “Berde” A. Radke, 58

Mrs. Radke, 58, of Hollandale, Minn., and formerly of Elgin, Minn., died Monday, July 26, 2010, at her home in Hollandale.

Roberta Ann Bjorneberg was born July 21, 1952, in Madelia, Minn., to Arlo and Elizabeth (Sperl) Bjorneberg. She attended elementary school in Madelia, Minn., and Cathedral High School in New Ulm, Minn., graduating in 1970. She then attended St. Mary’s School of Practical Nursing in Rochester, Minn. On Oct. 9, 1976, she married Theodore “Ted” Radke in Rochester, Minn. They lived in Elgin, Minn., until 1986 when they moved to Hollandale, Minn., in 1987. Berde was a nurse at St. Marys ICU in Rochester, Minn., for 14 years, at Albert Lea Medical Center for 3 years, and at Austin Medical Center for 19 years. She loved spending time with her dog, Einstein; was an avid MN Twins Fan; enjoyed reading, spending time with family and special coffee friends; enjoyed her vacations at “Brady’s Bunch” Cabin at Balsam Lake, Wis. Berde was a dedicated Democrat, but loved and got along very well with her Republican friends. She was a member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Albert Lea, Minn.

Berde is survived by her husband, Ted Radke of Hollandale, Minn.; one daughter, Megan Radke of Winona, Minn.; one sister, Janie (Bert) Williams of Anoka, Minn.; sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Richard Bjorneberg.

The funeral mass will be held at noon on Saturday, July 31, at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church, 315 E. Clark St. in Albert Lea, with Father Jim Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, July 31, at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye, Minn., at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to the Family.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, 10 E. Broadway in Plainview, Minn.
