Helen Dona Larson, 82, of Austin, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home where she was a resident.
Helen was born Nov. 9, 1927, in Freeborn, Minn., to Haakon Harold and Alma (Thomson) Hanson. She graduated from high school. Helen married Dennis Bank and they later divorced. Helen then married Lars Maynard Larson. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Helen loved to sew and embroider. She enjoyed her grandchildren and had a positive and upbeat sense of humor. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and the scratch lottery tickets.
Survivors include four children, Paul (Linda) Larson, Leslie Larson, Darlene (Scott) Nash, Mary Miller, all of Austin; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Harold (Dolores) Hanson of Long Lake; sister, Anne (Merrit) Henry of Carver; former husband, Dennis Bank of Hayward.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Haakon and Alma Hanson; husband, Lars Maynard Larson; four brothers; two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010, at Mayer Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Broberg officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Monday.  Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
