Elizabeth Condit

Elizabeth Johanna Condit, 92, formerly of Austin, died on July 21, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society in Olathe, Kan. 
She was born Jan. 4, 1918, to Jens and Rose (Walker) Peterson in Princeton, Minn., where she grew up and graduated from high school. She married Lee Robert Condit on Oct. 12, 1940. They moved to Austin in 1960 where Elizabeth worked for Austin Sanitation. Lee passed away in 1961. She studied nursing at Austin Vo-Tech. In the mid-1970s Elizabeth moved to Prescott, Ariz., where she worked as a nurse’s aid at Prescott Hospital. In 1996 she moved to Kansas to be near her daughter. A member of the Scandinavian group, VASA, Elizabeth attended St. Olaf Lutheran Church and liked to paint, crochet, do ceramics and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed music, crossword puzzles and reading.
Survivors include one son, Terry (Barbara) Condit of Morristown, Minn.; a daughter, Vicki (Larry) Drake of Olathe, Kan.; eight grandchildren, Kim Marsden, Shay Spear, Eric (Rebecca) Condit, Sheri (Keith) Schreifels Scott Drake, Troy Hofius, Scott Hofius, Robin Hofius; 14 great- grandchildren; a sister, Rose Marie (Morrie) Ryberg of Foley; other relatives and friends. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Jens Peterson; stepmother, Marie Peterson;  and her husband, Lee Condit.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 30, 2010, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Karen Behling officiating. Friends may greet the family for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. 
The family prefers memorials to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
