The No. 9 seeded Lyle/Pacelli softball team had its season come to an end in a 16-7 loss to No. 8 Medford in the first round of the Subsection 1A West Division tournament in Medford Monday.

The Athletics (3-15 overall) had won three of four coming into the game, but they committed seven errors in the loss.

“It wasn’t just one position that failed us, Medford just seemed like they wanted it more and we left a lot out on the diamond,” L/P head coach Denny Bray said.

The Tigers (3-15 overall) took a 10-3 lead in the third and L/P pulled to within 10-6, but the Athletics couldn’t take advantage of the eight walks they drew as they just had five hits.
