Marcella Lavina Ramsey, age 87 of Blooming Prairie, Minn., died Friday, May 14, 2010 at New Richland Care Center. 
Marcella was born July 21, 1922 to Reuben Erwin and Adrena Elizabeth (Hanf) Benson in Austin, Minn.  She attended country school in Newry Township and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1940.  
She married Gilbert M. Ramsey on June 27, 1948 at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie.  She made their home on a farm near Blooming Prairie.  She enjoyed gardening and visiting with family and friends on the phone.  Gilbert passed away on May 22, 2007.  She moved to the New Richland Care Center on March 10, 2010.
Survivors include her son: Dale (Mary) Ramsey, Blooming Prairie, Minn.; three grandchildren: Allen Ramsey, Hartford, Conn.; Lee Ramsey, Blooming Prairie, Minn. and Phillip Ramsey, Blooming Prairie, Minn.; two brothers: Richard (Betty) Benson, Blooming Prairie, Minn. and Robert (Jane) Benson, Owatonna, Minn.; sister-in-law: Janet Benson, Blooming Prairie, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert; three brothers, Gordon, Lawrence and David Benson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at St. Columbanus Catholic Church with Father William Kulas officiating.  A Ladies Rosary will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service.  Interment is at St. Columbanus Catholic Cemetery in Blooming Prairie.
