The Packer softball team erased a four-run deficit, but lost 13-6 in nine innings to Faribault at Todd Park Tuesday.

The Falcons (6-4 overall) came up with four hits in the seventh and Austin committed four errors in that frame as Faribault scored seven times in the top of the ninth to end the game.

Austin (3-10 overall, 2-8 Big Nine) had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded, but it couldn’t plate a run. The Packers had trailed 4-0 after three innings.

“It’s always tough to lose, but we battled back and came from behind and we just couldn’t seal the deal,” Austin head coach Tina Strauss said. “It was a winnable game.”

Austin tied the game at six in the sixth inning when Bri Mayer singled and scored on a Falcon error.
