Elizabeth (Betty) Fasbender

Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Fasbender, 87, of Adams, died Friday evening at the Adams Health Care Center, Adams, Minn. 
Betty was born Sept. 19, 1922 in Adams, Minn., the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Koenigs) Schneider. She was married to Gilbert “Gib” Fasbender on June 19, 1945 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Johnsburg. She had work as a clerk at a grocery store and later in the housekeeping departments of the Sacred Heart Hospice in Austin and the Adams Health Care Center in Adams.
Elizabeth was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams where she was a member of the CCW and a Unit. Betty enjoyed many travels and camping trips as well as doing embroidery work. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and baking cookies for them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; sister, Mildred Simon; brothers, Leo and Paul Schneider; brothers-in-law, Sylvan Winkels and Joe Jax; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Schneider.
Elizabeth is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Marvin Fifer of Apache Junction, Ariz., Mary and James Duane of Lewiston, Minn.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Sharon Fasbender of Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren, Lisa and Gary, Ann, Trina and Thomas, Marty and Melissa, Andrew, Brent, Danielle and Tom, Brian, Bradley, Jeffrey and Jill, and Michael and Katie; great-grandchildren, Ian, Nia, Benjamin, Thomas, Jr., Ashley, Bill, Britney, Zachary, Jacob, Chloe, Kayla, Caroline and Thomas; sisters, Anna Jax of Adams, Minn., Angela Winkels of Rochester, Minn.; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Margaret Schneider of Adams, Minn., Joseph and Audrey Schneider of Taopi, Minn., Martha Schneider of Adams, Minn.; and brothers-in-law, Marvin Simon of Waterloo, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 12 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams, Minn. with Father Ruben Spinler and Father Clayton Haberman officiating. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.  There will be a rosary service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Adams Funeral home where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday also at the Adams Funeral Home. Casket bearers will be, Jeffrey Fasbender, Michael Fasbender, Brent Duane, Brian Duane, Bradley Duane and Ian Loverink.
Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral home.
