The Blue Devils are one win away from the Junior College World Series after they beat Ridgewater 5-1 in the Regional baseball semifinals in St. Cloud Sunday.

RCC (35-10 overall) needs to beat the winner of Dakota County and Ridgewater on Monday to advance to nationals and if the Blue Devils lose the first game, they’ll get a second chance to advance.

“We’ll have to come to play tommorow, but we’ve played very well and we’re starting to get that swagger back,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “We believe we’re going to win and we’ll be going to Texas again.”

Against Ridgewater, Kyal Williams allowed just one unearned run in seven innings of work.

“It was one of his best games for us against a good hitting team,” Koenigs said.

Renee Araujo, a freshman from Houston, Tex., blasted a two-run homer in the thrid inning to make it 4-0 and he now has eight hits at the regional tournament.
