Southland softball team tops Glenville/Emmons
The Southland softball team knocked off Glenville/Emmons 13-12 in eight innings in Rose Creek Friday.
Southland’s Jana Schammel drew a bases loaded walk to score Emily Howton with one out in the bottom of the eighth to win it.
Southland (1-0 overall) had trailed by one heading into the eighth and they had to score two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.
“We had some nerves early on and we kept improving throughout the game,” Southland head coach Greg Schulte said.
