Barbara Jane (Corporon) Hovey of Red Wing, Minn. died Tuesday, April 7, 2010 in St. Brigid’s at Hi-Park.
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, July 12, 1931 to Sam and Della Corporon, she later married Edwin Hovey of Austin, were she resided until 2007.
Barbara had a fun loving personality, she loved to sing and be around family and friends. She especially liked to make people laugh.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Mellodie (Bob) Silman of Missouri, Mary (Ted) Lemay of North Dakota; her sons, Edwin (Bonnie) Hovey of Washington and Dean Hovey of Minnesota; her sister, Oleta Newell of California; and brother Richard (Pat) Corporon of Minnesota; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Jay, Wally, and Phillip; her grandsons, Chad, Calen and David; sister, Rita Ronquist, and brother, Don Corporon.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10 at St. Brigid’s at Hi-Park Chapel.
