Austin man wins $100,000 in Minn. lottery
An Austin man is $100,000 richer after winning the prize in the Minnesota Lottery.
Duane Charnecki claimed his winnings April 20 after purchasing two, $5 Large Mouth Cash scratch tickets at Ankeny Mini Mart, 1400 NW 14th St., lottery officials announced this week.
According to a press release, Charnecki said he plans to be low-key with his winnings. He would like to buy a new swing set for his grandchildren, and he already splurged on four Minnesota Twins tickets.
Large Mouth Cash is a $5 scratch game that offers players 22 chances to win up to $100,000. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.67. As of this week, there are still four of five $100,000 prizes that remain to be claimed.
