Harvey Fjerstad

Harvey Burton Fjerstad, 93, of Austin died Tuesday, March 16 at the Austin Medical Center.
Harvey was born March 31, 1916 in rural Dodge County, the son of Andrew and Bertenia (Robinson) Fjerstad. He attended county school and was married to Ellen A. Himle on June 16, 1938 at the South Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester, Minn. They farmed on Highway 218 north of Austin. Harvey loved his land and farming and he lived on the farm until last fall, when they moved to Austin. In the winter months they traveled through the west and south in their motor home. Ellen died in 1992. In April of 1998, Harvey was married to Elaine Skogebo Webber at the Northwest Church of Christ in Austin.
Harvey was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Eagles club.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen; brother, Franklin and sister Mavis Rowe.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Fjerstad, Austin; son, Wayne Fjerstad, Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren, Kendra and Justin Fjerstad; great-granddaughter, Ava;  Elaine’s children, Trudie (Alfredo) Cruz, Sioux Falls, S.D., Douglas (Sandy) Webber, Plymouth, Minn., Beverly Webber, Austin, Richard (Jolene) Webber, Jr., Ankeny, Iowa, LuAnn (Scott) Schmidt, New London, Minn.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great- great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 19 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Austin, with Todd Portinga, AIM officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and at the church for one hour before the service on Friday.
Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
