Christopher & Banks in the Oak Park Mall is scheduled to close later this month.

Representatives with the company’s corporate office couldn’t be reached for comment, but employees confirmed the store is closing. And, a sign outside the store’s entrance and fliers given out at the both store read, “Sorry, your Christopher & Banks at Oak Park Mall is closing. Please visit a nearby location below or shop online.”

Christopher & Banks, formerly Brauns Fashions, has more than 800 stores nationwide in 46 states. The chain’s closest locations include Albert Lea, Rochester and Mason City, Iowa.

The Austin location will likely be closed by the week of March 25. The stores closing adds to a string of vacant businesses at Oak Park Mall, and along 18th Avenue Northwest. Hollywood Video and Kmart are also scheduled to close.

Representatives with Oak Park Mall declined to comment about Christopher & Banks closing.
