Seventh grader wins Geography Bee

That was one of many tough questions at The Austin Catholic Schools Geography Bee yesterday morning.

This year’s first place winner was John Ferris, seventh grade. The second place award went to Maya Khanna, fourth grade, and third place went to Madeline Kraemer, eighth grade.

The Geography Bee is a nationwide contest for schools in the United States designed to encourage the teaching and studying of geography.

The winners of the contest will compete for advancement to the state-level by taking a written exam.
