An officer with the Austin Police Department was treated at Austin Medical Center yesterday after a minor car crash.

Detective Travis Heickley was stopped at a stop sign when 78-year-old Monica Lonergan’s car slid and struck the back of Heickley’s unmarked police car around 1 p.m. yesterday.

Heickley, 48, was taken to AMC by a private vehicle and treated for neck and shoulder discomfort. He was later released.

Lonergan was not injured.
