The Lyle Area Cancer Auction raised $119,000 over the weekend, topping the $100,000 mark for the second year in a row.

The Friday and Saturday auction spilled into Sunday as the last item sold at around 1:27 a.m. Sunday morning.

“In my opinion, every LAC auction that I’ve been to or a part of is the same way every year,” auction co-chairman Larry Ricke said.

“It’s the people who come out that dig really deep for an investment.”

A pink John Deere blanket sold for $1,100, as did a wooden angel, Ricke said.
