Elizabeth Compardo

Elizabeth Compardo, 74, resident of Davie, Fla., formerly of Austin, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 6, 2009 after a long battle with cancer.
Born Elizabeth Eisterhold on Oct. 12, 1934, in Meyer, Iowa, Elizabeth moved to the Austin area in 1948 and graduated in 1952 from Austin High School. A long time resident of Huntington Beach, Calif., Davie, Fla. became Elizabeth’s retirement home.
Elizabeth embraced life and was an active parishioner at St. David Catholic Church in Davie and an enthusiastic volunteer. She was named Davie Volunteer of the Year in 2001.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Rodney Dofort; adoring grandchildren, Christopher and Brieanne Dofort, all of Davie, Fla.; her sisters, Marian Elton of Bloomington, Minn., Dorothy Dempsey of Citrus Heights, Calif., Sue Witter, Rochester, Minn. and Linda Eisterhold, Oronoco, Minn.; and her brother, John Eisterhold of Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Florentina Eisterhold; and a niece, Kimberly (Elton) Swanson.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Austin, with interment in Calvary Cemetery, Austin.
