The Pacelli tennis team came up with its first win of the season at the Albert Lea Invite Wednesday.

The Shamrocks (1-3 overall) edged out Worthington 4-3, but fell to Albert Lea 5-2.

All of the Pacelli singles players won against Worthington and junior Lisa Johnen stayed unbeaten on the season with a pair of two-set victories.

No. 4 singles player Steph Kocer won in two sets against Worthington, and she came up with a comeback win against Albert Lea. After dropping the first set 3-6, she bounced back with wins of 6-2 and 7-5.

“The girls really played hard today, and we saw some good things to build on for the rest of the season. Even in the matches we lost there were some bright spots and things to feel good about,” Pacelli head coach Mark Henderson said.

Pacelli will play at Stewartville Sept. 10.
