Rachel Drewelow joined the Austin Daily Herald as the new community reporter Tuesday.

In 2008, the Minneapolis native graduated from the University of Minnesota, where she wrote for The Wake Student Magazine. Throughout her college years, she held reporting internships with the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Mpls. St. Paul Magazine, The Minnesota Timberwolves and Minneapolis’ Downtown and Southwest Journals.

In addition to journalism and mass communication, Drewelow studied French language and culture, which led her to spend six months living in southern France before returning to Minnesota to begin her career in journalism.
