Kids Korner sites open

Kids Korner is a quality preschool and school age child care program whose goal is to provide a safe place for children before and after school, on specified non-school days and during the summer. They provide an environment that encourages adventure, creativity, healthy self-concepts, respect for others, responsible behavior and a positive attitude.

Kids Korner sites include:

Community Learning Center — Provides care for children ages 3-5 enrolled in ECFE and ECSE Preschool programs. The CLC site is open from 6:30 a.m.to 6 p.m.

Austin Public Elementary Schools (Banfield, Neveln, Southgate, Sumner and Woodson) — These sites provide quality before- and after-school care for Austin Public School children kindergarten through fifth grade. The Woodson site is open from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 1:50 to 6 p.m. Other elementary sites are open from 6:30 to 8:10 a.m. and 2:40 to 6 p.m.

Children ages 3 years old through 5th grade may be enrolled providing space is available at the age appropriate site. A two-business-day wait period is required for all families to allow for processing of paperwork and appropriate staffing.

A non-refundable registration fee of $35 per child or $70 maximum per family is required at registration. Registration fee covers 09 10 school year and summer of 2010.

Regular enrollment is for children who use the program on a regular basis. There is a $10 minimum weekly charge per child and a $3 per hour per child is charged after reaching the $10 weekly minimum.

Backup or emergency child care is $25 per child per half day (less than six hours) and $50 per child per day (for six hours or more).
