Geraldine Ann Leland, 84
Geraldine Ann Leland, 84, died at her home in Missoula, Mont., July 21, 2009 of natural causes.
She was born Jan. 28, 1925 in Waterloo, Iowa to the late Theodore Royal Gibson and Hazle Bloker Gibson. She graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1943 and married her high school beau George M. Leland of Cedar Falls, Iowa. She worked during college years at Iowa State University business offices in Ames, Iowa until she moved to Austin with George and commenced raising their two children. The family relocated to Mankato, Minn. in later years and ultimately to Missoula. 
During her retirement years with George in Missoula, Geraldine enjoyed interesting travels, numerous cultural events and winter reunions with new and old friends in the Green Valley, Ariz. sunshine. She loved sharing the natural beauty of Montana, corresponding with family and friends, and was the resident grandmother in her Montana neighborhood. 
She is survived by one daughter, Leslie A. (Jim) Pertzborn, Chapel Hill, N.C.; son, Jay (Kristi) Leland, Apple Valley, Minn.; grandchildren, Krysta and Joshua Pertzborn, Chapel Hill, N.C.; Kyle and Cody Leland, Apple Valley, and her brother, Ed Gibson, Ft. Dodge, Iowa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Leland,  and sister, Barbara Jean Gibson.
 On July 27, 2009 a remembrance gathering took place in Missoula. Interment took place at the Congregational Church Memorial Garden in Rochester, Minn. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
