The shorthanded Austin Blue Sox lost 7-2 at Marshall in an amateur baseball game Sunday.

Austin (15-4 overall) played with just 10 players and was missing four of its starting infielders in the loss.

Marshall scored four in the seventh inning to take a 7-0 lead.

The Blue Sox stranded the bases loaded twice and left runners in scoring position in each of the first three innings.

“We didn’t have any timely hitting,” Blue Sox manager Josh Kunze said. “If we get back in there with some runs we could’ve been back in it.”

Austin has now lost three of its last four games, and Kunze is hoping to change the pace.

“It’s nice to get our bench players in there, but it throws off our timing,” Kunze said. “Hopefully guys start coming out to the ball park because we’re getting sick of losing.”

Austin will host Owatonna Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
