LETTER: Thank you, Austin

Published 9:32 am Monday, July 20, 2009

My recent efforts to raise money for a year of service in Malaysia have been richly rewarded, thanks to the generous support of people in the Austin community, and especially the members of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Pastor Kristi Koppel, Organist Neal Erickson, Administrator Eric Buntrock, Assistant Administrator Sam Vaith, members of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, St. Olaf Church Foundation, etc…; you were all vital to the success of my benefit trumpet recital.

To those who attended the recital, thank you for your presence — we enjoyed performing for you. To those who were unable to attend but sent checks to help me reach my goal, I truly appreciate your show of support.

Josh Diaz and Piggy Blues Barbecue employees, your generous donation of pork sandwiches, potatoes, fruit kebabs and homemade cheesecakes was a fabulous way to end the afternoon. Thank you so much for serving us your delicious food.

All donations will be sent to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Young Adults in Global Mission fund.

This fund will provide airfare, housing, health insurance and a monthly stipend during my year in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, where I will be teaching English and music at an orphanage.

Sincerely,

Jacob A. Dalager

Austin
