Keith E. Colee, 75
Keith E. Colee, 75, of Blooming Prairie, died on July 19, 2009, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.
Keith Eugene Colee was born July 2, 1934 in Pocahantas, Iowa to Earl and Sudie (Crain) Colee. Following graduation from high school in 1952 he joined the Navy, serving for 20 years. After retirement from service he moved to Blooming Prairie. He farmed, then went into working with chickens and later owned Prairie Pullets. Keith married Carol Ann Stromberg, and Edgar (Eddie) was born to that marriage. Edgar (Eddie) died in October 1984. Keith’s first marriage was to Sarah Hayles, and to that marriage two sons were born, Kenneth E. Colee and Keith E. Colee, Jr. Kenneth died in February 2008.
Keith loved to camp, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He also liked to collect NASCAR and farm machinery. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife 45 years, Carol; son, Keith (Cheryl) Colee, Jr., Seattle; daughter-in-law, Debbie Colee, Cupertino, Calif.; three grandchildren: Brandon Colee, Cassie Colee and Megan Colee; sister-in-law, Isabelle Colee, Havelock, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Eddie and Kenneth; seven sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2009, at the Worlein-Blooming Prairie Funeral Home Chapel in Blooming Prairie, with the Reverend William Kulas officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Blooming Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Worlein-Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Memorials are preferred to Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, 12 Civic Center Plaza 2090, Mankato, MN 56001.
