Donald D. Boe, 81
Donald Dean Boe, 81, of Austin, peacefully joined his Lord and Savior on July 24, 2009.
 He and his twin sister Shirley were born, Aug. 31, 1927 in Clayton Township, Mower County to Simon and Lizzie (Anderson) Boe. Don and Shirley were the eleventh and twelfth of 13 children. He was always very proud to be a member of a family of 13 children. He was a former member of the Marshall Lutheran Church, rural Adams, where he was baptized and confirmed. The family lived in Clayton Township most of his life. He graduated from the Adams High School in 1945. He entered the Air Force in November of 1945 and was honorably discharged in 1946. Don married Bonnie Starry on Sept. 3, 1949 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union was born one daughter, Nancy (Boe) Vestal. He was reactivated into the Air force in 1951 serving at Offutt Air Force Base; Omaha, Neb., where he did auto body work. He was discharged a second time in 1953. He return to Austin in July of 1953 where he worked at Chinander’s Auto Body until opening the Ace Auto Body and BO-DE Travel Trailers businesses in 1963. Don was an active member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Austin since 1955.
Donald is survived by his wife, Bonnie L. Boe, Austin; daughter, Nancy (Larry) Vestal, Rochester, Minn.; step granddaughters, Teresa (Mark)  Marquette, Rochester, Minn., Elizabeth (Darren) Hancock/Erwin, Davenport, Iowa, Jennifer Rempt, Davenport, Iowa; great-grandchildren; brother, Harlan (Maggie) Boe, LeRoy, Minn.; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Gladys Boe, Adams, Minn.,  Martha Boe, Adams, Elaine Starry, St. Paul, Minn.; Charles and Evelyn VanHouse, Austin; nieces, nephews, their families and special four year old friend, Asia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Ervin, Mildred Corcoran, Juletta Wigness, Helen Palmer, Hazel Hall, Nona Erie, Jim, Vernon, Lois Reich, Shirley Harrington and Richard.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Marshall Lutheran Church in Adams, Minn. with the Reverend Warren Schmidt and the Reverend Shari Mason officiating. Interment will be in Marshall Lutheran Cemetery in Adams with Adams Post # 146 American Legion in charge of military rites. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Austin or the Marshall Lutheran Church, Adams.
Casket Bearers will be, Bill Boe, Mike Harrington, Dennis Starry, Donald Starry, Keith Reich and Vance Erie.
