Austin Public Schools Adult Learning Program coordinates a community mentor program for scientists at the Hormel Institute. They have successfully matched many community members with scientists over the past year and our program continues to grow.

Mentors provide a link to the community for scientists and their families.  They enjoy many recreational and community activities together.  The experience has been rewarding for all involved.

The program is looking for more community members to become involved with this program as they have more requests for matches.  A coffee event will be held Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Hormel Institute for interested community members and scientists.  If you are interested in becoming involved or learning more about this program, contact Amy Baskin at 433-0900 or abaskin@austin.k12.mn.us.
