George N. Peck, 88
George N. Peck, 88, of Austin, died on June 3, 2009 at Austin Medical Center. 
He was born Dec. 18, 1920 in Austin, to Peter and Mallas (Druwatkopits) Peck. George married Lorrayne Seavey on Jan. 19, 1947 in Mason City, Iowa. He served in the United States Army during World War II for three years.  Two and a half years of that time was spent overseas.  He worked at Geo. A. Hormel and Co. for 44 years. A member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, in his spare time he loved to hunt, fish and travel to his cabin in Ontario, Canada.
Survivors include his wife, Lorrayne, Austin; two daughters, Cindy Evans, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Sandra Cochran, Litchfield; two stepsons, Eugene Borden, Valley Center, Calif. and Thomas Borden, Oakdale, Minn.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Peter Peck. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mallas and Peter; two sons; one brother; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 91. Casket bearers are Jeremy and Jessica Evans, Chad and Trisha Watkins, Peter Marks and Richard Cochran. Honorary casket bearer is Jennifer Evans. The family prefers memorials to donors choice.
