Your Austin area letter carriers want to thank all who helped make our annual food drive a success. Many families will have food available through the summer because of your willingness to get involved.

Thank you Mayor Stiehm and the city council for your help each year. The help from the AHS Honor Society was invaluable. Thank you Gage Morgan, Sam and Meg Brucker, Laura Astrup, Sara Alms, Anna Anderson, Jacob Bentley, Laura Nelson and Brady Klingfus. Special thanks to Sharon Alms and her husband Walt for the extra help.

Thanks are due to Troy Nelson for his help before and during the drive as well as Mike Chavez. Our gratitude is extended to Lori Blanton and the volunteers at the Salvation Army for the work they do all year long. Thank you area churches, Hy-Vee, Jim’s and Wal-Mart.

We appreciate the involvement from the Dexter, Racine and Rose Creek post offices and hope to include more communities next year.

Finally, and more importantly, thank you to all who donated food or money. Your generosity is a great example of neighbors helping neighbors.
