The Hayfield baseball team beat Pine Island 4-3 in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (6-4 overall) got a strong effort from Tyler Krekling, who allowed just two hits, five walks and three runs while striking out four.

Ben Pollock struck out three to get the save in one inning of work.

Tyler Nelson was two-for-four and Krekling was two-for-three with a double.
