Dale A. “Slick” Wetzel, 65
Dale Allan “Slick” Wetzel, 65, of Austin, died on February 5, 2009, at his home in Austin.
He was born Sept. 8, 1943, in Austin, the son of Henry and (Henrietta (McDermott) Wetzel. He graduated from Austin High School in 1961. After graduation, Dale served with the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. After his discharge, Dale served with the Minnesota National Guard for several years. He worked at Jim Lebans Ford dealership for 11 years, and most recently worked for the Pinkerton Security until his retirement in 2008. Dale lived his entire life in Austin.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services, with the Reverend Steve DeFor officiating, will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2009 at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin with military honors by American Legion Post 91 and VFW Post 1216. The Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
