Vaughn R. “Spud” Bothun, 66
Vaughn Ray “Spud” Bothun, 66, of Austin died on March 29, 2009 at his home in Austin.
He was born July 17, 1942 in Owatonna, Minn., to Everett and Violet (Krejci) Bothun. Spud graduated from Austin High School in 1960. On Nov. 9, 1968 he married Susan McGee at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Austin. Spud had retired from Northwest Market, which he owned with his wife. He was a member of P-9 support group, Cedar Valley Conservation Club, The Eagles Club, The National Wild Turkey Federation and was a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling and spending time with family and friends at the cabin in Spring Valley.
 Spud is survived by his wife, Susan Bothun, Austin; son, Brad Bothun (Fiancée Candice Crowther), Chicago, Ill.; daughter,  Lindsey (Kevin) Haney, Austin; grandchildren, Kylie and Owen Haney; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Irene McGee, Austin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law,  Jim and Sherri McGee, Austin; sister-in-law, Ann McGee, Austin; sister and brother-in-law,  Mary and Wally Huemann, Albert Lea, Minn.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Violet Bothun and brother, Vance Bothun.
 Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2009 at Clasen-Jordan Chapel with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Friday for one hour before the service.
