The Packer boys golfers showed their strength as a team as it took first place in the nine-team Mayo Invite Wednesday.

Austin finished with a team score of 308, edging out Lourdes, which scored 310.

Senior James Thorson took home his first medal of the season with a season-low score of 74, and Drake Brehmer and Garrett Erstad tied for third overall with a score of 76.

“It’s great to see James, Drake and Garrett doing well. We’re getting there as a team and I think we can do even better,” Austin head coach Will Pazurek said.
