Gary Lee Brandt, 56
Gary L. Brandt, 56, of Albert Lea, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at his home.
Gary was born in Austin on Aug. 29, 1952 the son of Edmund and Alberta (Fuchs) Brandt. He graduated from Albert Lea High School. Gary served his country in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Diane Budach in Wells, Minn. and later divorced. He had lived in Wells and Albert Lea. Gary had worked at Wells Concrete Products, Clothing Care Products and for the last 25 years at Streaters Co. Gary had been a member of the American Legion and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed watching football, baseball and basketball, and his greatest love was the time he spent with his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his parents, Edmund and Alberta Brandt, Albert Lea; son, Corey (Katie) Brandt, Albert Lea; life partner, Julie Golder, Albert Lea; sisters, Jerrilyn Warmka, Wells, Minn., Karen (Rick) Boyer, Albert Lea, Robbin (Todd) Weatherly, Rochester, Minn.; brother, Marty Brandt, Albert Lea; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Brandt and grandparents.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Pastor Curtis Zieske will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before service at the church. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Veteran’s Organizations.
