Dorothy Theuer

Dorothy Jean Theuer, 78, of Blooming Prairie, Minn., died at her home Thursday evening, April, 23, 2009.
Dorothy was born on Feb. 19, 1931 to James and Maude Wentzel in Austin, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1949. She married Karl Theuer on March 13, 1953 in Austin.
She worked at the Blooming Prairie Bakery and later at Ben Franklin in Blooming Prairie. She spent several years as a caregiver for her father-in-law and taking care of the grandchildren, which she really enjoyed.
A member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church and VFW Auxiliary, Dorothy enjoyed ceramics, gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include her husband: Karl Theuer, rural Blooming Prairie; two sons: Wesley (Pat) Theuer, Bosque Farms, N.M., Wayne Theuer, Shakopee, Minn.; daughter: Karla (Arden) Anderson, Blooming Prairie; six grandchildren: Tami, Amy, Scott, Sarah, Alissa, and Wyatt; six great grandchildren: Alex, Adrian, Talon, Gavin, Awtum, Joclyn; sisters: Viva (Cecil) McGonigle, Austin, Minn., Nettie Greenman, Rock Island, Ill., Dixie (L.D.) Wytaske, Lansing, Minn., brothers: James Wentzel, Bishop, Ga., Robert Wentzel, Austin, Guy Wentzel, Las Cruces, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 27, 2009 at St. Columbanus Catholic Church. A Rosary Service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home where friends may greet the family from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is at St. Columbanus Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to donor’s choice.
