Adolph F. Huinker, 82
Adolph Francis Huinker, 82, of Austin, passed away on April 18, 2009 at St Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Adolph was born Aug. 10, 1926 to Anthony and Christina Huinker in Fort Atkinson Iowa. His family later moved to Austin. When Adolph was 16 he entered the US Navy and served 6 years during World War II. He retired from Hormel after 35 years but continued working part time, most recently as a security guard for Securitas at Hormel. Adolph was a member of the American Legion since leaving the Navy and a life member of the VFW.  For over 40 years he was active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles serving locally as President for three years and nine years as Secretary. He also held offices on the district and state level for many years. Adolph enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to golf and continued to play until 80 years of age. He was a generous and kind man and will be missed by all his loved ones. 
He is survived by his wife Ethel; five children, Vic Hill, Austin, David (Kathy) Huinker, Knoxville Tenn., Barb (John) Heerema, Owatonna, Minn., Dawn (Dennis) Dobbs, Boaz, Wis., Marcia (Daniel) Dobbs, Muscoda, Wis.;  grandchildren, Michelle Norton, Thomas Dobbs, Jesse Kottner, Cheryl Dobbs, Jason Dobbs, Nikki Gleash, Alysha Heerema, Ashley Heerema, Chelsie Dobbs; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hildegard Golden and Rosemary Cook. 
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy O’Connor and four brothers and three sisters. 
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Military rites will be by American Legion Post #91. Arrangements by Mayer Funeral Home.
